Can’t Stand Your Interior Decor Anymore? Try These Changes!

After looking at the same four walls for so long, you may not want to spend any more time in your home. Why not make a few small, quick, easy and cost-effective changes to bring it out of the doldrums? Here are some ideas to get you to (hopefully!) fall back in love with your property!

Move Your Furniture Around (Simple yet Effective!)

Obvious advice? No doubt! But you must do it once to realize how much rearranging the furniture in a room makes a big difference. You will feel like you are rediscovering our space and giving it new life. The bedroom, living room and family room usually lend themselves well to this exercise.

Modify an Out-of-Date Accent Colour

Shopping online is popular these days. Many businesses are relying on discounts on products or shipping to attract potential customers. Take this opportunity to change the accent colour in the room that bothers you the most. Trade in the red curtains, cushions and throw for dark navy blue ones. Replace the decorative vase, bathmat and soap dish in the multicoloured bathroom for both neutral and classic accessories. The results are immediate!

Declutter a Room That Sorely Needs It

A great way to change the atmosphere in a room is to declutter. If possible, add storage with pretty boxes, shelves, chests or wall cabinets to open up the space. This change can only improve the overall look of the room.

Revamp a Dull Item of Furniture

There may be one or two pieces of furniture in your home that are out of date, damaged or that simply bore you to tears. Feel free to alter them to make them more appealing! Whether they are made of melamine, thermoplastic or wood, they can be revamped using appropriate renovation techniques. Search the web for tutorials!

Make the Entertainment Area… Entertaining!

The entertainment area — which usually contains the TV, computer and video game console — has been getting quite a bit of use over the past few weeks (to survive the lockdown!). The couch may have taken the shape of its occupants, the throw is stained with coffee, the carpet is worn, and the television stand looks like it’s been through a battle. Depressing, no? If there’s one room that needs to be refreshed, it’s this one! Replacing objects and repairing broken furniture will make it stylish again. The goal? Make this space welcoming!

Repurpose a Forgotten Room

If you’re lucky enough to have an extra room in the house, make it your dream space. Turn it into a sewing room, a reading room, a gym or any other dedicated area you want. This is the perfect time to treat yourself!

We hope our ideas will help you get the most out of your own indoor living environment!
